Basic Training: Getting Back to Fundamentals
Make a new habit. A simple one. Try it now with Athletic Greens.
Not all habits are created equal though - you want to create positive, healthy ones and break the pattern of the old, negative ones. Think of something you do often enough that you wish you did daily. Think of something you would take pride in doing each and every time you do it.
Flossing. Sitting still and breathing for 5 minutes. Taking a moment to be grateful. Hydrating. Eating more greens
Seriously, simplicity is key. Crazy habits just aren't sustainable.
You want to find ones that not only don’t starve you of your most scarce resource, time, but also gives it back to you. That way you can focus on new ways to grow and become the best version of you.
The great thing about healthy habits are, they usually break the pattern of the negative ones, they often become the catalyst of positive transformation, and the self-investment now gives you a better chance in realizing short-term and long-term payoffs for yourself and your family.
Personally, I got interested in hydration and eating more greens as they often become the two most neglected by those stuck in poor health patterns.
So every day, when in doubt as to what I should do with my time and energy, I focused my attention upon hydration and eating more green things.
Athletic Greens: Hydration and Nourishment
Drink water. Eat plants and other green things.
Out of all the fitness advice I've ever gotten, no one would really disputes these two activities as critical aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
I made this my focus in 2018, and in doing so I learned how hard it is to start a new habit. As the Lifestyle Brand Manager for Spartan Race, I try to be as healthy as possible, but I often forgot to drink water and eat healthy, fresh green vegetables with my busy schedule. I was dehydrated and undernourished as I tried to go too big all at once on new healthy habits in 2018.
I needed a healthy hack. One that was not only time-forgiving, but was easy to implement on a daily basis, and would add nutritional support to my body on those days I let my health succumb to my schedule. Something that kept me steady, so I could be laser focused on achieving my goals amidst a hectic lifestyle.
My Daily Habit
Every day I drink Athletic Greens with 500 mL of water.
That’s what I’ve been committed to. It’s the first thing I do every morning. Every day. No question.
Knowing that I’m absorbing 75 high quality, bio-available, whole food sourced ingredients every morning, it gives me the peace of mind that I’m supporting my energy, immune system, gut health, managing my stress and endurance, regardless of what’s ahead of me that day.
It’s also so simple and tasty.
There is no need for a different supplement for probiotics, prebiotics, digestive enzymes, adaptogens, superfoods and antioxidants - because Athletic Greens includes it all in the one delicious scoop.
Focusing on one input has been a game changer in my morning routine.
Move from Habits to Consistency
What I’ve learned taking Athletic Greens has shifted my approach to ‘habits’. Habits can be labelled good or bad.
So the key is being consistent. Because consistency leads to results and consistently hitting those milestones leads to accomplishing your goals.
Athletic Greens is not a habit - it’s about being consistent.
