2022 Spartan Trifecta World Championship: Everything You Need to Know
For the first time since 2019, the Spartan Trifecta World Championship will return in 2022. Beginning with opening ceremonies, members of the Trifecta Tribe will return to Sparta, Greece — a city rooted in ancient Spartan history — for the third time.
Among the mountains and ancient olive groves, four epic days of racing and unforgettable celebrations will unfold on Nov. 3-6, 2022, as athletes from across the globe attempt to earn their coveted Trifecta title — a Sprint (or Stadion), a Super, and a Beast (or Ultra) — in the spiritual home of Spartan.

A Breakdown of the Trifecta World Championship Schedule
With the entire weekend limited to just 2,000 participants, the festivities kick off on Thursday, Nov. 3 with an opening ceremony and parade of nations. Throughout the following days, Trifecta athletes can race in all three event distances — 5K, 10K, and 21K — or choose to race in Open Sprint or Super heats. The racing kicks off with the Trifecta's shortest distance, a Sprint, and Spartan Kids races on Friday, Nov. 4. Trifecta World Championship racers will then progress to the Super on Saturday, and the weekend will culminate with the Beast on Sunday, including awards and closing ceremonies.
How to Qualify
While there are no finishing time requirements, 2022 Trifecta World Championship qualifiers must have completed a Spartan Trifecta between Nov. 8, 2021, and Oct. 30, 2022. With more than 110 global Spartan event weekends in 2022, including 12 U.S. Trifecta weekends and 30 Trifecta weekends overall, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to earn your spot in Sparta.
