SEE IT: Spartan CEO Joe De Sena Rips Vaping, E-Cigs, and Ex-Juul CEO Kevin Burns
Presented by Spartan Training®

On Wednesday morning, Kevin Burns stepped down as CEO of electronic cigarette company Juul, which he also co-founded. Earlier this month, the Trump administration announced that it plans to ban flavored e-cigarettes, and vaping continues to be a growing issue among today’s youth. A recent study found that nearly 1 in 10 eighth graders currently vape.

Just hours before Burns stepped down, in the early hours of Tuesday evening, Spartan founder and CEO Joe De Sena was walking the streets of Manhattan when he came across a Juul sign. Never one to shy away from his beliefs, Joe took out his cell phone and provided an impromptu rant about vaping, e-cigarettes, Juul, and Burns. For months, Joe had been calling feverishly for Burns’ resignation. Was Joe the reason that Burns ultimately stepped down from his post? (Probably not, but we’re going to give him at least some of the credit.)

“I’m so disgusted,” a fired-up Joe — when isn’t he fired up? — says in the video, his handy kettlebell resting on his shoulder. “Kevin Burns, CEO and founder of Juul, are you kidding me? Come on, you don’t need the money that bad. If you needed the money you should have just called me, or somebody. We would have given you the money.

“…Kids that play sports, kids that play lacrosse, are sucking on these f***ing vapors … And if you’re out there doing it, what are you thinking? You didn’t know it was going to screw up your blood vessels?”
