6 Need-To-Know Facts about Spartans Appearing in the 2019 Rose Parade
Presented by Spartan Training®

What's the Story With the Tournament of Roses Parade?

Spartan has partnered with 24 Hour Fitness to help create a float for the 130th Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. Here's a pretty cool history--the first edition was in 1890.  The audience for the 2019 Parade will be something in the range of 44 million nationally, another 28 million internationally and 700,000 in person.

When Does it Take Place?

The Tournament of Roses Parade will start at 8am PT/11am ET, January 1, 2019, and be televised nationally.

What Will I See?

Along with the float being created to represent a female Spartan (not to be missed), you'll see top Spartan athletes and SGX coaches, including champions Robert Killian Jr, and Nicole Mericle.

What Can I Win?

Snap a photo of the float and post on social with the hashtag #24Sweepstakes to net a chance to win a free Spartan race entry or the Grand Prize of a one-year membership to any 24 Hour Fitness.

How Can I Watch?

Plenty of options. Tune in to one of these  to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade: ABC, NBC, Hallmark Channel, KTLA Channel 5, RFD TV, Univision and Amazon Prime.

And If I'm There?

Check out the expo and visit us! We'll have an obstacle course waiting for you. In fact if you're there you can check out the floats up close at the Showcase of Floats.

What are 24 Hour Fitness & Spartan Doing in the Rose Parade?

An interesting contrast to be made: What's the why here? A nationally-televised parade followed by a football game is more about watching rather than doing. Which may be the point.  The theme of the float is 'Tuned in For Any Challenge.' Chris Roussos, Chief Executive Officer of 24 Hour Fitness, explains it this way: “At 24 Hour Fitness we believe that anyone can achieve their dreams with the right support behind them. Whether they’re training for a Spartan Race or just trying to move a little more often, we’ll help them find the right ensemble of workouts to conduct the life they want. The ‘Tuned for Any Challenge’ theme mirrors both the personalized attention we give each member to help them get in tune with their aspirations and the physical tuning we guide them through, so they can achieve their best. We hope our float will encourage the millions of people watching the parade to see their own potential, dream big and take their next inspirational step to achieve their personal goals.”
