5 Simple Ways to Guarantee That You Crush the Summer
Presented by Spartan Training®

Summer’s here! And after a year of lockdowns and stay-at-home lifestyles, it’s time to get up, get out, and get fit (or fitter).

Of course, that might be easier said than done. Besides your fitness levels having possibly taken a nosedive, your workout circle may have got smaller or wrapped up all together.

If that’s the case and you’re wondering how to get your training back on track, we’ve got an idea — make this your summer of Spartan.

Teamwork makes the dream work, right? And teaming up with another Spartan-focused athlete is a great way to keep you committed and accountable to your goals.

Many Spartan Facebook groups organize offline training sessions. Check out your local FB group or simply post a request and start your own Spartan training tribe in your area.

Sign Up for a Race

Spartan Summer Activities

This one is a no-brainer. If you’re going to get serious about training like a Spartan this summer, then you have to sign up for a race. No discussion. No excuses.

Signing up for a race can sharpen your focus. You have a clear reason to train and a start-line in sight. And though the idea of competing may feel intimidating to first-time Spartans, truth is, anyone with heart, hope, and a good deal of determination can run a Spartan race.

There are three core events — the Sprint, Super, and Beast

At just over three miles long, the Sprint is the shortest event and may appeal to those at the start of their fitness journey.

The Super is a longer course — around double the distance — with more obstacles, while the Beast — at up to 14 miles and at least 30 obstacles — is for those with greater endurance, ability, and a lot of training hours under their belt.

Understanding your fitness level and what you think you can achieve workout-wise before it’s time to hit the racecourse will help you in deciding which event to choose.

But don’t forget to challenge yourself too. After all, if you’re going to make this your summer of Spartan, then you need to push yourself, persevere, and commit 100% to crushing your goal — no matter how hard it gets.
