Can Visualizing Success Actually Help You Achieve It?
Sick of giving up on your goals? Studies show that you’re 65% more likely to meet a goal once you've committed to doing it alongside someone else. So, commit to a race NOW, rally your squad by sending a personalized referral link to friends to save everyone money, get started on the 30-Day Unbreakable Training Program, and smash your goals together.
Have you ever been on the fence about committing to something? On one hand, the challenge is appealing: You can prove to yourself (and others) that you're capable of putting in the work and accomplishing hard things. But on the other hand, self-doubt is a dream killer, and you're probably not immune. So, how do you achieve realistic success and actualize your true potential without squashing a vision you're hell-bent on chasing?
For starters, you stop feeding into confirmation bias. Spartan CEO Joe De Sena has many favorite quotes, and, "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right," is one of them. If you constantly feed your mind a belief that you're incapable of accomplishing something, it'll never come to fruition. (In other words, if you don't believe in yourself, who the hell will?)

On this CLASSIC episode of the Spartan Up! podcast, licensed clinical psychologist Lara Pence, founder of The Underground Strength Gym Zach Even-Esh, Darn Tough founder Ric Cabot, and De Sena himself join forces to discuss how to pivot course without abandoning your vision, plus how to learn from unsuccessful actions and build momentum.
"The more that you understand confirmation bias, the less likely you are to fall into that trap because you might be able to recognize when you're latching onto information that confirms that negative belief, rather than considering information that disproves the belief," Pence says.
