2024 PanAm Power Rankings: The Top 10 Women of the Season

The 2024 PanAm Championship season showcased some of the fiercest female athletes in the Spartan racing world. These women battled it out across the three National Series in North America, pushing through heat, mud, and relentless obstacles to be the absolute best of the best. 

The season culminated at the PanAm Championships in Seattle, the biggest event in the PanAm region, where competitors faced their toughest challenge yet. Here are the top 10 women who have defined this season so far, based on overall race times and consistency regardless of Pro or Age Group heats.

2024 Spartan Race Female PanAmerican Power Rankings

1. Nicole Mericle

Nicole Mericle

  • Average Rank: 1 (1 race)
  • Top 3 Overall: 1 | Top 10 Overall: 1 | Top 20 Overall: 1
  • Seattle Rank: 1
  • Nicole Mericle made her mark by winning the Seattle Beast, the PanAm Championship event. Though she competed in just one race this season, her first place finish in the most important event of the PanAm region makes her deserving of the top spot in these rankings.

2. Dulce Velázquez Flores

  • Top 3 Overall: 3 | Top 10 Overall: 3 | Top 20 Overall: 3
  • Seattle Rank: N/A
  • Dulce Velázquez Flores had an outstanding season, securing first-place finishes in all three of her races. Her flawless record across multiple events makes her one of the most dominant athletes this year, placing her right behind Nicole due to her consistent performances.

    3. Lauren Weeks

    • Average Rank: 1.5 (2 races)
    • Top 3 Overall: 2 | Top 10 Overall: 2 | Top 20 Overall: 2
    • Seattle Rank: 2
    • Lauren Weeks had a strong season, finishing on the podium in both of her races, including second place at the PanAm Championship in Seattle. Her consistent results highlight her strength and reliability in tough competitions.
    • “It’s fun to be scared sometimes,” she says about racing in Seattle. “I didn’t realize I would find the dunk wall so daunting when I hadn’t seen the other side of it yet. I had a surprising sense of accomplishment getting through that one.”

    4. Annie Dube

    • Average Rank: 1 (2 races)
    • Top 3 Overall: 2 | Top 10 Overall: 2 | Top 20 Overall: 2
    • Seattle Rank: N/A
    • Annie Dube performed flawlessly in her two races, standing at the top both times. Although she didn’t compete in as many races as other athletes, her consistent top finishes mark her spot as one of our top athletes this season.

      5. Lisa Musacchio

      • Average Rank: 2.33 (3 races)
      • Top 3 Overall: 2 | Top 10 Overall: 3 | Top 20 Overall: 3
      • Seattle Rank: N/A
      • Lisa Musacchio proved to be a consistent force in the field, earning two podium finishes in her three races. She placed in the top 10 in all her events, demonstrating her endurance across the season.
      • You’d think at this point I wouldn’t have much to learn from every race, but each one truly is a new learning experience with things to reflect upon,” she says after racing in Salt Lake City. 

      6. Cassandra Gill

      • Average Rank: 4.33 (3 races)
      • Top 3 Overall: 1 | Top 10 Overall: 3 | Top 20 Overall: 3
      • Seattle Rank: 3
      • Cassandra Gill displayed steady form throughout the season, securing a podium in Seattle and holding her place in the top ten in all her races. Her ability to perform well in both regular series events and the championship race is a testament to her strength.

      7. Kaci Monroe

      • Seattle Rank: 5
      • Kaci Monroe had a solid season with three podium finishes and consistently placed in the top 10. Her 5th place at the PanAm Championships rounded out a successful year, where she consistently showed up near the front of the pack.

      8. Rose Wetzel

      • Seattle Rank: 4
      • Rose Wetzel made her mark this season with one podium finish and a 4th place at the PanAm Championships. Her ability to land in the top 10 in every race she competed in proves her resilience and skill in high-stakes competitions.

      9. Jordan Hausladen

      • Top 3 Overall: 0 | Top 10 Overall: 3 | Top 20 Overall: 4
      • Seattle Rank: 7
      • Jordan Hausladen fought hard throughout the season, consistently placing in the top 10 in most of her races. While she didn’t make the podium, her 7th place finish at the PanAm Championships and overall top 10 finishes reflect her tenacity.

      10. Kassidee Bur

        • Average Rank: 9 (4 races)
        • Top 3 Overall: 1 | Top 10 Overall: 2 | Top 20 Overall: 4
        • Seattle Rank: 15
        • While Kassidee Bur competed in the Age Group category for her four events, her performances were impressive enough to place in the top 10 overall twice, including having the overall fastest time in Red Deer. Despite finishing 15th in Seattle, her consistency and standout Age Group results solidify her place among the top athletes this season.
